From Evidence to Action: The story of cash transfers and impact evaluation in Sub-Saharan Africa

This book presents the findings from evaluations of the Transfer Project and concludes that cash transfers are becoming a key means for social protection in developing countries. The success of cash transfers has contributed to a regional trend towards wider adoption of social-protection policies as a systems approach at the national level, run through social development ministries. Country case studies highlight the importance of building the capacity of the social service workforce to deliver and scale up effective social protection programs.
