Macrine Otuge Macrine Otuge is a dedicated and experienced Social Worker with a professional background spanning over eight years, primarily focused on assisting families, children, and communities. Her expertise extends to various critical areas, including child protection, family strengthening, adolescent programming, and community engagement interventions.

Currently serving as the Project Coordinator for the Changing the Way We Care (CTWWC) initiative at Investing in Children and their Societies (the Local Implementing Partner responsible for CTWWC in Kisumu County), Macrine plays a pivotal role in her organization. Her responsibilities encompass a wide range of crucial tasks, including offering mentorship and technical support to program staff at ICS, coordinating CTWWC activities across seven Sub-Counties within Kisumu, collaborating with various government departments, and providing support to Charitable Children's Institutions (CCIs), Statutory Children Institutions (SCIs), families, and communities. Her overarching goal is to ensure the safe and nurturing reintegration of children into family environments while preserving existing family units and preventing unnecessary separations.

Macrine's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Egerton University, and she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in project planning and management at Maseno University. She has also earned certifications in Child Development and Psychosocial Support from the National Children Advocacy Centre and Conflict Management and Resolution from the Centre for Conflict Management and Resolution Kenya. Macrine is also a skilled trainer in a variety of critical areas, including Value-Based Life Skills, Skillful Parenting, Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence, and Case Management for Reintegration.

Macrine's deep passion for her work stems from her personal experiences growing up in an environment where not all children had equal access to education and were exposed to violence and other child protection concerns that often went unaddressed. This motivation drives her to create awareness about these issues, seek solutions to pressing problems, and ensure the safety and well-being of children within family environments.

Within her portfolio, Macrine and her team offer comprehensive support to families and children, which includes implementing robust case management processes for reintegration. This involves activities such as diligent monitoring and follow-ups, as well as family strengthening interventions like parenting support, Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC), Child Optimized Financial Education (COFE), and facilitating essential linkages and referrals to government services.
