A Future-Ready Social Service Workforce: Navigating the Realities of Climate Change and Ageing Populations

On 7 February 2024, the Global Social Service Workforce Alliance hosted a webinar to showcase the findings from our recently released 2023 State of the Social Service Workforce Report: A Decade of Promise a Future of Promise. We dove into the report's insights, highlighting the significant progress that has been made to strengthen the social service workforce over the past decade and noting key priorities that must be considered when looking towards the future of workforce strengthening.

Then, through a moderated discussion with two experts, we examined two realities that the social service workforce must be positioned to respond to over the next decade: climate change and ageing populations. We explored the specific role of the social service workforce in responding to the growing needs brought about by these changing realities and how we can proactively strengthen the workforce to respond to these needs.
