Para Professionals in the Social Service Workforce: Guiding Principles, Functions and Competencies - 2nd Edition

This edition builds upon the initial publication released in September 2015 and includes competencies for two new sets of workers - Para Professional Social Workers (PSWs) and Para Professional Community Development Workers -  and updates other elements of the document. These competency frameworks are intended to assist managers and para professionals in developing programs, designing job descriptions and assessing training and supervision needs.

This resource was developed by the Global Social Service Workforce Interest Group on Para Professionals, comprised of Alliance members, and was validated in four countries and with input across dozens of other countries. The document is intended to be a "living document"; we invite you to share input by posting comments here or emailing the Alliance.
